The Barbour Bedale® waxed jacket is an authentic icon of British style, created in 1980 from an idea by Dame Margaret Barbour to meet the practical needs of horse riders. Designed for equestrian activities and perfected for everyday use, this jacket combines functionality and tradition, becoming a must-have for those who appreciate timeless elegance.
Made from waterproof and durable waxed cotton, the Bedale® stands out for its comfortable fit, shorter length, and rear vents that facilitate movement. The practical internal nylon drip strip prevents moisture from rising from the saddle, ensuring maximum protection even in adverse conditions.
The design is completed by classic Barbour heritage details: the corduroy collar, the Scottish tartan lining, and the large, functional and refined bellows pockets. Compatible with optional thermal linings and hoods, this versatile jacket can be worn in all seasons, both in the city and in the countryside. The Bedale® also gave rise to the more fitted women's version, the Beadnell, inspired by the coastal village of the same name in Northumberland.
